The Practical One

Drew is all about the little everyday things that make travel an effortless experience. One of his top suggestions is a backpack on wheels. “It’s super helpful because I can be a backpacker or give my body a break and wheel it around,” he says. Additionally, he’s prepped with an outlet converter and a multi-charging cable to ensure his tech is ready at all times.

The Overpacker

Self-proclaimed “chronic overpacker” Linh is getting started on her packing early. By taking her time and curating her packing list, Linh is ensuring there’s room in her suitcase for the things she’s most excited to bring — like her camera, journal and a book or two. Packing light is a challenge for anyone with a maximalist style, but Linh has a hack. She focuses on easy-to-pack accessories that take up less space but still express her creativity.

The Thoughtful Traveler

Keenly aware of the opportunity for memorable cultural experiences, Jessica is packing with intentionality. Pre-planning outfits is one of her top tips, but she warns to pack shoes that are both comfortable for walking and easy to slip on-and-off. She’s also learning from previous trips to Japan by bringing a coin purse and temiyage, or small gifts. “They’re gifts specific to the region you’re from that you give as a token of appreciation,” says Jessica.
